English Dub Review: Bye Bye, Earth “Spell of Proof Still Distant”

Overview:

With her first divinely appointed duty behind her, Belle waits impatiently for a second call to arms. She explores Park City in the meantime until a chance meeting with the enigmatic soloist Adonis piques her curiosity.

Our Take:

I’m still baffled about what is happening but at least things are starting to pick up. What exactly is happening still confuses me but something tells me that will make sense later, at least I hope it does. Have you ever watched the anime The Twelve Kingdoms? If you haven’t I can’t recommend it enough but it took a long time for me to start to enjoy that show. I just wanted an isekai I hadn’t seen before to watch and it was rough at the start. I’m hoping that this show goes a similar route and starts to make sense soon because there is enough intrigue here to keep someone coming back but it needs to lead somewhere.

I also want to talk about how great Megan Shipman is. She does the voice of Belle and if you’re familiar with the massively popular Spy x Family she also voices Anya Forger. I’m constantly blown away by the talent of voice actors to become almost unrecognizable with different voices. Once I found out she was the voice I even tried to listen for shades of Anya in her performance and I can’t find any. I’m impressed with her and hope the rest of this series gives her more opportunities to shine.
