English Dub Review: Vampire Dormitory “Love 8. The pretty boy has a fateful encounter.”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Back at home, an elder reads Ruka’s fortune and shows him his soulmate, predicting he will meet her that night. Despite knowing Mito’s secret, Ren continues to act the same towards her, letting her dress as a girl while out in town, but…
Our Take:
We’re about eight episodes in, and Mito’s secret has already been exposed, thanks to one of the vampiric cohorts who poisoned her. Even worse is that Ren, a seemingly casual human who’s actually a half-vampire, was the first person to uncover that truth. I hoped this revelation might happen in the next two episodes, but this works, too. Despite this, though, Ren is able to save her from her tragic fate, resulting in him promising not to reveal Mito’s secret to everyone. Although we can all sigh with relief, the problems arising from it might go from bad to worse, especially Ruka. The elder’s fortune has informed Ruka that he’ll have a fateful encounter with his destined partner. However, from the looks of her fortune, the destined partner we’ve been dying to know about almost resembles Mito, meaning that Ruka’s soulmate is standing in front of him the whole time.
Unfortunately, this causes another huge problem for Mito when the elder’s fortune becomes a reality. While Ruka is finally able to see Mito’s female form, he’s still unaware that Mito and his “destined partner” are the same person. This resulted in Mito feeling more concerned about Ruka accepting her for her true self, even though Ren was the first to welcome her truth. So, it appears that Mito will have to continue playing pretend in front of the boys, with Ren serving as her bodyguard/boyfriend. But as it turns out, Ren might also be hiding another secret that could spell doom for Ruka and Mito’s prophesied fate. While I knew beforehand that Mito was predicted to be Ruka’s destined partner, I admit that I’m still intrigued to see where it goes now that Ren knows Mito’s secret.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
