English Dub Review: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation “Into the Labyrinth”

Overview:

Rudeus and Elinalise reach Rapan and soon reunite with Paul, only to learn that a deadly labyrinth has claimed both Zenith and Roxy. The fruits of Rudeus’s studies offer a last, faint hope to reach his mother and his mentor in time.

Our Take:

I know Studio Bind was created to animate the Mushoku Tensei series but they need more work. The way they animate action scenes is fantastic. I don’t know what they do so well but they feel so visceral. It helps when they’re fighting monsters that get ripped apart easily but I love this series. It was also great that we finally got to see Roxy again.

I’ve been looking forward to Roxy and Rudeus meeting again after all this time. The last time Roxy saw him he was a toddler so it makes sense that she wouldn’t recognize him. I think it’s fitting that when she reunites with him it’s exactly like the story she told of how she wanted to fall in love.

Seeing the family reunited was a nice change of pace. Paul has his problems as a father but he does his best and I think he did well with Rudeus. This is one of the best arcs in the series because of the family aspect.
