English Dub Review: Gods’ Games We Play “Where Did the Sun Go?”

Overview:

Fay’s team begins their game against the Mahtma II and his army. Fay’s team is completely outnumbered and Dax makes a surprising move. Will they get the sunflower to the top of the pyramid?

Our Take:

As you know I love it when we get to see smart protagonists in action. Not only that but when the show itself leaves clues around for you to figure out what the characters are up to. Until then, this show wasn’t very good at doing that. You knew that the characters would come out on top but you didn’t have any idea how, which isn’t a deal breaker but it’s a lot more fun when you can involve the audience. I don’t want to spoil for people who haven’t watched but in this episode, I would give you a hint to keep your eyes on Dax whenever he’s on-screen.

Now Fay has his sights set on getting Nel on his team, but there’s one problem. Nel has three losses and is planning on retiring. But luckily for her Fay knows a way to get rid of a loss, by playing a special game with a God named the Bookmaker. He wants Nel on his team so badly that he’s willing to gamble on one of his wins to get rid of one of her losses. Fay is the first human to reach six wins so this is a big deal.
