English Dub Review: The Witch and the Beast “Origin Witch”

Overview

Ashaf heads off with Helga to find somewhere safer for her to stay, but while they are gone, Guideau overhears a bunch of kids talking about a witch and goes to investigate. But is the rumor all that it seems?

Our Take

In this episode, Ashaf leads Helga through secret corridors to the Order of Magical Resonance, while Guideau heads to a house in the city where a rumored witch resides with children. However, Guideau faces rejection from the secretive organization due to being a delinquent. When children mention encountering a witch, Guideau investigates and encounters an elderly woman with a cat and dog.

Meanwhile, Ashaf receives a black envelope indicating a loose witch. The situation escalates when an Executioner, disguised with a cloak, starts targeting individuals and transporting them to another dimension. Guideau becomes entangled in the mystery surrounding her brother and the Forbidden Instrument. Later, Guideau is confronted by Executioners who transports her to another dimension, where she encounters the witch responsible for cursing her…

Overall, the episode is intense, particularly with Ashaf’s unusual tension and concern, which isn’t normal compared to his usual calm & collected demeanor. The revelation of the witch’s identity and her history with Guideau raises questions about her motives and the connection between Ashaf and Guideau. And why Ashaf said he cares about Guideau’s life MORE than his own? what’s the story there? Hopefully we will find out in the next episode…
