English Dub Review: The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil “The False Foolish Angel and Demon”

Overview:

Lily’s brother, Zwei, comes to visit. He’s pleasant and cordial when he first runs into Lily and Akutsu. However, his tone quickly shifts when he thinks he’s alone with Lily.

Our Take:

If Lily and Akutsu somehow survive what’s about to happen I think it will do wonders for the romantic progression of this series. But that will be a big if Zwei is not playing around and might care less for Lily than he does Akutsu even though Akutsu is a mortal enemy of the demon race.

I always have a problem with series like this where it’s been an okay series, not good or bad, but when it nears the end of the series it starts to get very interesting. As I’ve stated before I understand that, that is the whole point of an anime. To get people interested in the source material, it’s why I enjoy anime originals so much. But the series itself should also be interesting and not to say that this one hasn’t but some of the revelations we learned about Lily in this episode were awesome. This fight with her brother will probably take all of the next episode and a chunk of the last one so there won’t be much more time left for development.

Now it seems like Lily and Akutsu have a chance to be something because people in the angel camp dislike her just about as much as demons do. I hope this series sticks the landing on the ending because it has been more enjoyable than I thought it would be.
