English Dub Review: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End “Perfect Replicas”

Overview:

Due to the Spiegel, a legendary monster that can create perfect replicas of others, the test-takers who would conquer the Ruins of the King’s Tomb must first face the ultimate enemy: themselves.

Our Take:

Our episode opens with Land wounded and Ubel trying to figure out how to defeat a copy of herself. But she’s come to learn she can count on Land because she had a feeling that only one of his clones was wounded, not his actual body. This led to one of the best fight scenes I’ve seen in recent episodes, Ubel vs Ubel was a sight to see and didn’t disappoint. I’ve come to expect great things from the animation of this series especially when it comes to the fight scenes. This leads me to believe that next week’s episodes will be a sight to behold.

Fern and Frieren met up with the group facing the Frieren copy, they had barricaded themselves outside the room. Once Frieren saw what they were up against she understood immediately why they were having trouble. This led to my favorite part of the episode when Fern proclaimed that she believed that she could kill Frieren. Frieren’s response was that of childhood glee, she can’t wait to see what Fern can do. Well, trust me Frieren neither can I.
