English Dub Review: The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil “The Equally Foolish Angel and Demon”

Overview:

When Lily tracks down a spats-obsessed demon, Akutsu does everything he can to distract her from the battle. Later, Akutsu’s boss visits and demands he work on his game to better recruit a new leader for Hell.

Our Take:

Akutsu had to come to terms with helping Akane fight his fellow demons. But one thing he wasn’t prepared for was how she dealt with demons. This particular demon took on the form of an unruly wolf who was obsessed with seeing women in tights. Now that doesn’t sound good but I promise it’s not like it sounds. This whole time I thought Akane was killing demons but when she exorcised them she simply got rid of their evil ideas. In this case, after the exorcism, the demon became a cute dog and then she called a friend to make sure it got adopted. Turns out that’s what she had done with the past demons as well and has never faced a humanoid demon as of yet.

One problem with Akane being so kind is it gave Akutsu some interesting ideas. Now that he got to see her cute side he couldn’t help but have some lovey-dovey ideas. This episode was one of the first ones I liked because as you know I love romance and this episode gave us a little glimpse into how their relationship might work.
