English Dub Review: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End “Future Enemies”

Overview:

After the conclusion of the first test, the exam participants have some time to kill in town. What do mages get up to on their days off?

Our Take:

I don’t know if many of you reading this get into “shipping” which if you don’t know is the act of putting characters into relationships that you think look cute together. That’s a bit of an oversimplification but you get the idea. I think we all can’t wait to hopefully see Fern and Stark together but now there’s another couple I want to see as well. Ubel and Land (yes I know their names are weird) are the new couple on the block. I’ve already seen a few memes about them that have been really cute but I imagine we will have to wait and see.

The only thing that disappointed me about this episode was that all these different characters decided to eat at the same restaurant but yet none of them interacted with each other at all. I thought it was a missed opportunity not only to see some of the mages that didn’t interact do just that but also getting to see how Stark reacts to some of these mages. This got remedied slightly when Wirbel was looking for a warrior and decided to take Stark with him. That has me intrigued for next time.
