English Dub Review: The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist “Your Leg’s Already at T-Minus 5 Seconds Before Blastoff!”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Wataru helps out with the school visit tour. He reunites with Rin at school during the summer break. Meanwhile, Aika is lost in thought as she recalls how she met Wataru.
Our Take:
You know, we’re expecting to stay away from school during the summer. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as Wataru transitions from working part-time at a used bookstore to assisting with the school visit tour. But it was because Kaede forced him to do so, resulting in him reuniting with Rin and the Moral Public Committee to perform manual labor. While Yuyu Inatomi was a little upset with Rin over the “incident” with Wataru, he and Rin are still on speaking terms as they prepare for the upcoming school tour.
Of course, with only three episodes remaining, we’re sure to have something going regarding the complicated feelings of Wataru and Aika, mostly the latter. This was proven in the episode’s second half, as she reminisced how she helped Wataru out of a tight spot in middle school, leading to Wataru feeling attached to her. This is the only exciting part of the episode because it explores more of Aika’s complicated feelings. She neglected hanging out with other people by using her younger sister as her excuse, which may be why she first turned Wataru down at middle school. Of course, there’s also the fact that Wataru’s positivity and eagerness started to bother her, mainly due to him being too affectionate toward her. However, it looks like Aika is beginning to turn herself around regarding Wataru’s personality.
There isn’t much going on in this episode compared to the last two besides Wataru and the Moral Committee preparing for the school tour. However, the second half, involving Aika’s development, managed to maintain my interest in its plot. Considering that we’re almost done with the series, it makes sense that we’re starting to return to this complicated journey involving Wataru and Aika. With them finally confronting each other again, will they finally have the courage to speak out their feelings? My gut says yes, but we’ll see.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
