English Dub Review: The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You “Love Mission: Impossible” / “Even If It Kills Me”
Overview:
The Rentarou family carry out their mission to save Hakari.
Our Take:
Hakari’s mother, Hahari, has forbidden Hakari from seeing Rentarou ever again. Rentarou and his other girlfriends decide to rescue Hakari and protect her happiness. The first episode shows the group breaking into her house, only for Karane and Rentarou to eventually be caught by Hahari.
The second episode shows Hahari questioning Rentarou’s love for her daughter. She also explains that she herself was blinded by love, which is why she gave birth to Hakari at the age of 13. It’s also why she has her doubts about Rentarou, but he is determined to prove how much he loves Hakari.
These episodes are full of hilarious moments, such as everyone hiding from the security guards. My personal favorite is when everyone jumps into the water to help their friends. Shizuka jumps in too, even though she doesn’t know how to swim. She’s okay in the end, but the camera work on that scene makes it hilarious.
There are also some heartwarming scenes in these two episodes. Each of the other girlfriends has their own reason wanting to save Hakari. It’s nice to see how much of an impact she’s had on everybody.
There’s some absurdity to be found here as well, that being Rentarou’s newest love interest. This is only touched on a little bit in these two episodes, but we get a cliffhanger at the end of Episode 11 that leads us to believe that it will be the main focus of the season finale.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
