Our Take
Remember the good old days of Family Guy when the show was unapologetic to celebrities before Seth MacFarlane became one himself? Well, Pepperidge Farms remembers, and if you remember, then you’re going to appreciate the midseason finale of FOX’s long running animated sitcom.
I don’t know if the producers bothered to ask Kevin James to voice himself in this show before they got someone else to do it, but I hope that they at least attempted. If they did, then I can’t complain, but if they didn’t, then they should’ve and I’m thinking Kevin would’ve said yes. Is he slowly roasted over an open fire for 22-minutes, sure, but it’s nothing compared to the savage beatings that Les Moonves-Chen, Scott Rudin, and FOX Entertainment as a whole receives near the end of the show, so I wonder if he would’ve been fine with it.
Family Guy also made sure to have it out to the conservatives that thought this was going to be a bash fest of Hollywood, hilariously anti-Christian/education romps made sure to take care of that real quick with a few other cutaways thrown in for good measure to even everything out (the realtors bit, holy hell that was great). The dialogue during the actual plot could’ve used a punch up here-and-there, but the script hits it’s marks in good time and it’s exactly the type of episode we needed to see before we get this three month break of Family Guy. It’s a stark reminder that, when prompted, the producers of this show have no problem going for the jugular.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
