FOX: Taskmasters Animated Workplace Comedy In The Works
FOX has ordered a script commitment for a new animated workplace comedy from Bento Box Entertainment and created by Brian Keith Etheridge, Brendon Walsh (Crank Yankers), and cartoonist Johnny Ryan (Prison Pit) called Taskmasters! The series follows a bunch of pals trying to make a living off of the gig economy complete with real life calls to businesses.
Our Take
This premise sounds incredible and has a super talented gaggle of creators. On a network where we have a Krapopolis that is influenced by web3 tech, having a series that may be influenced by real world phone calls sounds like a fascinating bit. Add in the fact that we have Johnny Ryan who is a god damn genius as it pertains to illustration, and we have ourselves a solid foundation that could really spice things up for FOX. Hopefully, this one comes to fruition.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
