English Dub Review: The Kingdoms of Ruin “The Witch Doroka”
Overview:
Doroka tries to use her magic to end the bloodshed and we find out who really controls the Redia Empire.
Our Take:
Doroka is tired of the war between humans and witches, so she uses a powerful spell to try and control Yamato. This way, he’ll listen to her request and the war might finally end. However, Adonis has his own method of ending the war and it involves a lot more violence. His plan answers the question of Yamato’s transmission at the end of the last episode. It also gets Adonis and Doroka transported back to Earth, but we’ll find out how that ends in the next episode.
We also find out who is truly controlling the Redia Empire. The emperor is not the only powerful figure in the kingdom. It turns out there’s someone more powerful than him and it creates a somewhat intriguing plot twist.
This show has been messy and that trend continues in this episode. I understand Adonis’ desire for revenge, but it’s really starting to get in the way of making progress. Not only that, but it doesn’t even feel like he wants to avenge Chloe anymore. It feels like he’s just trying to satisfy his own bloodlust. I still don’t hate him, but it’s getting harder to be on his side.
I respect Doroka wanting to end the war peacefully, but that seems like a lost cause at this point. Especially now that we know who’s really in charge of the Redia Empire. Doroka and Adonis are still unaware of this, but it definitely changes the landscape of this conflict.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
