English Dub Review: The Faraway Paladin: The Lord of the Rust Mountains “The Lord of the Rust Mountains”
Overview:
When Will’s party finally faces the overwhelming power of Valacirca, they prepare for a fight to the death… but then the dragon suddenly offers to become Will’s servant. What is Valacirca thinking, and what choice is Will going to make?
Our Take:
Valacirca said the thing! He called Will “The Faraway Paladin”, and man this has become one of my favorite isekai series. However, I have to admit that it doesn’t feel like an isekai series. Other than the occasional comment by Will here and there where he recalls some memories from a past life it would feel more like a normal fantasy. It reminds me a lot of Mushoku Tensei in that regard because you would never know outside of the first episode and a few mentions here and there.
You would know that dragons are tough but apparently, Will is tougher. If not tougher, he’s braver. He looked this dragon in the eye and told them that he would accept a deal with him as long as he repented his ways. As you can imagine that didn’t go well and Will had to break out a spell that I don’t think I’ve ever seen him use. It looked like it was over and the dragon was dead but as you might know, dragons are hard to kill. All I can say is this episode is going to be hard to top but something tells me it will.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
