English Dub Review: A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special “Magical Beasts”

Overview

Desir and his team plan to survive long enough to place within the top nine, as they defend against the attacks from other parties. Then a monster has spawned, and Pram courageously stands up against it.

Our Take

This time around, we are at the final stage of the shadow world test, and now it’s time to see how far Desir’s team has progressed. As the tournament begins, The main three get teleported in separate locations which I don’t understand why that’s part of the rules since the three meet up with each other and whoop some ass anyway with their teamwork. But With 18 participants remaining, the party plots their course of action as Desir decides that their chances of getting promoted are better if they are among the last nine remaining rather than clear the Shadow World. The Privius Clock Tower rings summon magical beasts into the Shadow World, triggering a survival quest that mostly involves some disgusting creatures called “Kildra mice”.

As Desir’s party runs away, he draws them out with his blood, while Romantica attacks it with her magic but fails to kill it due to its high magic resistance. So Pram puts his sword skills to use in unexpected ways to defeat the leader and succeeds after an exhausting battle to clear the survival quest. As the party rests, Desir recomposes himself after Pram goes against his orders to retreat. While this is going on other parties clear their survival quests, and they all meet up concurrently at the Privius Clock Tower where a battle royale awaits…

Overall, this was an okay episode. The group has a long way to go, and the fact they had to struggle against the magical beasts was a wake-up call and a reminder that they aren’t quite in the major leagues yet. The other classes were able to take out the beasts with ease, but it took some ingenuity from the pram to save Desir’s group. I know Desir wants to get back to that point in time he left and save his people, but no need to rush right? Aside from that, it didn’t feel like too much happened other than the head pats and beast fight and I Look forward to the end of this arc…
