Marvel Studios’ What If?: Trailer Premieres For Second Season

The second season of Marvel Studios’ What If? is set to premiere on December 22nd with nine days in a row of episode premieres happening on Disney+. What If…? is an American animated anthology series created by A. C. Bradley for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. Bradley is the head writer for the first two seasons with Bryan Andrews directing.  Laura Karpman is joined by her wife Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum to compose the second season.

Jeffrey Wright returns as the Watcher, who narrates the series, alongside many MCU film actors reprising their roles with season two seeing the return of Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster or “Giant-Man” and Cate Blanchett as “Hela”. The trailer also seems to further indicate a little more distance from MCU proper and instead propelling the Guardians of the Multiverse into the Marvel Animated Universe.

The premiere episode is a sequel episode featuring Hailey Atwell returning as Captain Carter in an episode entitled  “What If… Captain Carter Fought the Hydra Stomper?” where , continuing from the previous episode, Peggy Carter / Captain Carter believes that the love of her life, Steve Rogers, is long-dead until he is discovered alive as the villainous Hydra Stomper.

An episode, written by Ryan Little and directed by Andrews, will introduce an original MCU character named Kahhori, a young Mohawk woman who seeks to discover her powers after the Tesseract crash-lands in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy in pre-colonial America.
