Our Take

This time around, Ten’yuu’s mother wants him to find his happiness, which is heavily indicated by the sight of his mother struggling against an unknown illness. However, after learning about Sei’s reputation as a sought-after alchemist, Ten’yuu seeks her help to create a cure-all for his ailing mother. However Sei given her limitations, can’t immediately fulfill such a request Despite Salutania’s political complexities, but thankfully, Sei gains permission to experiment in her own time. Consulting Corinne, she faces uncertainties but avoids hitting a dead end.

Even though Ten’yuu’s overseas study is for a year, his mother’s condition is worsening each day, so he might not stay for much longer. his mother’s deteriorating health prompts a realization that he may not stay abroad much longer. Fulfilling a promise, Hawke returns to Sei, bringing apple blossom-flavored honey from his domain. The honey becomes a key non-medicinal component for possible cure. Of course with Sei performing her magic discreetly, she also proceeds to incorporate the apple tree, which also becomes a crucial element. And when this is presented to Ten’yuu through His Majesty Siegfried, the panacea serves as a symbol of unity.

Overall, this episode was so bittersweet. The idea of Presenting Sei the idea to create something potentially beneficial for the prince’s mother is a positive turn. In the end, I’m glad that Sei was able to create the potion that would hopefully cure the prince’s mother of her illness. And the anticipation of the prince’s return to share its potential results ends things on quite a positive note…
