Netflix Teases Animation Reveals At Geeked Week 2023 ; Onmyoji Gets Start Date

Kicking off on Monday, November 6 (aka Stranger Things Day) and running through Sunday, November 12, Geeked Week will give us the low down on Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Scott Pilgrim Takes OffUltraman Rising, Blue Eye Samurai, Masters of the Universe: RevolutionAkuma Kun (Premieres Nov 9) and Exploding Kittens. Netflix this week also announced that a new series set to premiere in January is an anime series called Delicious In Dungeon. The streamer has also announced the next chapter of Seven Deadly Sins called “Four Knights of the Apocalypse” and have released a poster that you can see here.

Also set to premiere for an already busy November, the demon-Slaying action-anime ‘Onmyoji’ an eagerly awaited anime adaptation of Baku Yumemakura’s acclaimed series of novels. Premiering on November 28, this series promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of history, mysticism, and an epic battle against menacing demons. The series is directed by Soubi Yamamoto and produced by Marvy Jack, with scripts written by Natsu Hashimoto and Yuiko Kato.

The legacy of “Onmyoji” spans various forms of media, including manga, live-action films, and theatrical stage performances. With this new animated series, a fresh dimension is added to the timeless tale, focusing on the legendary figures of Abe Seimei and Minamoto Hiromasa, both from Japan’s Heian Period. Together, they confront humans who have been transformed into malevolent demons. Seimei, the eccentric yet unparalleled diviner of ancient Kyoto, teams up with Hiromasa, a well-meaning grandson of Emperor Daigo, to put a halt to the demons’ malevolent activities.
