English Dub Season Review: The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season Two Part Two

Overview:

The second part of the second season of The Devil is a Part-Timer!

Our Take:

For all intents and purposes, this was the third season of The Devil is a Part-Timer! but it’s being listed as part two of the second season. When certain anime does this it gets so confusing for me. I’ll just say that I hope we get another season of this series without having to wait five or more years. Lots of anime are in need of another season and this one finally got one and I just hope we get a conclusion because I don’t know if my bookshelf or my fiance can handle me getting into another book series.

We finally got to see Ente Isla and Emi got herself into trouble. Emi and Alas Ramus went to visit her home and things went sideways and Emi got brought into a holy war. Everyone back in Tokyo got worried when Emi missed her return date.

I think what I love most about this series is that not only is it hilarious but it also has a lot of heart. Nothing brings heart to life like great voice talent and everyone has reprised their roles. Jessie James Grelle comes back as Maou and Felecia Angelle is Emi. These two have great chemistry and they are the two characters that I think need even more screentime together.

The only negative to this part of the season was when Emi was gone because the interactions with Maou and Emi are so enjoyable that I feel like a lot of what makes the series great is missed when they are apart. Perhaps that is part of the reason why they were separated so that we could miss what we had and appreciate it more.

It’s been ten years since the first season of The Devil is a Part-Timer! and we finally got a full season two. I really love this series and hope we get another season announcement sooner rather than later. If ten years from now I’m still doing this job and not talking about the end of this series it will be a sad day.
