English Dub Review: Spy X Family “Follow Mama and Papa”

OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)

 I haven’t known this show to be incredibly story focused, but this felt very much like a filler episode plot used to just get people back in the groove with how these characters generally interact. And lo and behold, it actually kind of IS! Specifically, it is an “extra story” from the manga that is pretty much just meant to be a one and done self-contained story that is meant to be watched and digested easily. So yeah, basically exactly what I thought it would be, the only difference being it is actually from the source material, just not necessarily part of the story, AND it’s by the main author, which is always a plus. Next episode will more than likely get us into the plot for the rest of this season. Apparently this season will consist of two arcs, one of which takes place on a cruise ship, so that sounds like a neat place for trained assassins and telepaths to hang out peacefully with no bad stuff happening. I’m just kidding, I expect a lot of bad stuff to be happening. But it will be ENTERTAINING bad stuff, I’m sure.
