English Dub Review: Jujutsu Kaisen “Seance”

Overview:

Nanami, Fushiguro, and Ino meet up with Itadori, and then Nanami issues new orders for the others to work together to lift the veil keeping sorcerers out.

Our Take:

This has to be one of the best shonen airing right now, I love My Hero Academia as much as the next guy but it feels like this and Demon Slayer have an almost cult-like following. There’s nothing against My Hero Academia , but its popularity hasn’t seemed as high lately. I still love it and read it weekly but I haven’t been as hyped for it in recent seasons.

What makes this series really interesting to me is that it feels like it’s well-loved in spite of its main character. I’m not suggesting that people dislike Yuji by any means, but if you ask people who their favorite JJK character is, most of them will say Gojo. This episode at the very least reminded me why I really like Yuji, he’s dumb but wise when it comes to a fight. Sure it takes Megumi to figure out the weakness but he knows how to implement the strategy.

I have to say that cloning sorcery or whatever is at play seems dangerous. Toji Fushigoro was a tough opponent and he’s seemingly back but not really? Like I said I don’t quite understand it but I think the fight next week is going to be a fun one.
