English Dub Review: The Devil is a Part-Timer! “The Hero Weeps”

Overview:

Who’s holding Emi hostage? Why are so many humans, demons, and angels after Ashiya? Maou needs to find out all this and more, but first, he needs a new power source to defeat the invading army.

Our Take:

This could go a lot of ways but it is definitely exciting and I’m curious to see what is going on with Emi. With Alas being MIA as well Maou did get to use a sword when Alas’s sister turned into one as well. I know that a lot of times the sentences I write when describing this show are nonsensical but that is just how this show goes. I know it doesn’t make sense but trust me it’s still a good ride and when it comes to anime this isn’t even the weirdest one you can find.

In technical news, I think something is still wrong with Tia Ballard because Chiho was seemingly voiced by Jill Harris in this episode. If I had to say that there was one thing that I truly loved about the anime industry it’s that all the VAs step up to help each other. There are some work issues in the industry for sure but it’s always great to see people step in and assist when it’s necessary. I also want to mention that I love Dani Chambers’ role in this. It’s one of her roles where if you didn’t tell me it was her doing the voice I wouldn’t be able to tell.
