English Dub Review: The Devil is a Part-Timer! “The Hero Questions Her Hometown”

Overview:

Emi is freshly struck by all the differences between Ente Isla and Japan. Then Alas Ramus reveals more about herself, causing Emi to reevaluate several things. Meanwhile, Maou is trying to coexist with Acieth Alla without losing his mind.

Our Take:

This week we got to see what has happened from Emi’s point of view. Something is going on with Alas Ramus and she leads some bad-looking people right to her and Emi. With all the different groups and dimensions going on it’s not hard to get a little confused but sometimes I get way too lost. This can be frustrating and is one of the only things I dislike about this anime, and with a long time between seasons one and two I forgot a lot of characters and what happened involving them.

It does seem like we’re headed to something pretty big though now that a lot of the gang is headed back to Ente Isla. One of the biggest things to happen was that Alas doesn’t see Emi as we do, to her she looks like Lailah or Emi’s mother. I’m not smart enough to know why that’s a big deal as of yet but I can pick up on context clues and it seemed like a big deal.
