English Dub Review: Reign of the Seven Spellblades “Reversi”

Overview:

Oliver and his friends attend their first broom-riding class. Meanwhile, Pete discovers something unexpected about himself.

Our Take:

Fresh off my Rent-a-Girlfriend review I needed a win and luckily, this series always seems to be a fun time. Pete’s gender randomly “changing” was a bit weird because I was expecting it to be a typical anime scenario where they were just deciding to hide their gender. Turns out they have some sort of spell or something affecting them which in a world like this isn’t too far-fetched but we’ll see how it plays out.

Chela’s father taking over the recently deceased alchemy teacher’s class was a fun surprise. I wonder if this will be like the defense of the dark arts class for this series. Nanao continues her bid to be the best girl of the season. Not only that but I could see her being the best girl of the year, that is if she even gets nominated. Are you listening Crunchyroll?! I’m just having a lot of fun with this series and this is something that I would like to get another season instead of Rent-a-Girlfriend. I don’t know what will help that happen but more of you watching can’t hurt!
