English Dub Review: Reign of the Seven Spellblades “Master and Knight”

Overview: 

Oliver and his friends are caught in a brutal team battle against other students deep within the labyrinth.

Our Take:

I know this anime won’t be winning any awards for being the most original or anything like that but at the very least it’s fun. Not only that but there’s also some heart to it. The troll that Katie saved way back in the first episode joined the group and his name is Marco. I loved seeing the fist bump of friendship between him and Oliver, the gang is breaking down barriers!

With this episode, we got a three-on-three duel involving Oliver, Nanao, and Chela. The animation isn’t over-the-top amazing but it’s so solid that I really enjoy watching the fights in this. Not only that but the “One-Step, One-Spell” distance fighting style is pretty intriguing. Being in the distance to stab someone but also shoot them with a fireball is enough to get anyone interested in a fight.

I just hope this anime does well enough that we can get more of it because this is a really fun world to be in. Everyone loves magical stuff and they also love anime so this definitely feels like a match made in heaven.
