English Dub Review: My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1 “We’ve All Been Waiting! It’s Eve’s Turn to Shine”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
As Ryota, Emily, and Celeste return to Secro, the party encounters several situations. One is a stray attacking the town, resulting in the destruction of Emily’s hammer. Meanwhile, Eve frantically searches for Ryota so she can have more carrots. After finding the level-oner, Eve’s secret past is revealed.

Our Take:
Ryota and Emily have gained a new addition to the team in the form of fire magic user Celeste. This is exactly what Ryota needed, as more problems arise in their hometown of Secro. One is that Secro is hosting the upcoming Harvest Festival, which has people attempting to get drops from dungeon monsters before they turn into strays. I won’t be surprised if the festival is the key element in the show’s final couple of episodes since most isekai shows end with a big event, whether it has high-stakes action or an innocent scenario like in this episode.
However, the preparation for the Harvest Festival isn’t the episode’s primary focus. Instead, it offers two scenarios similar to the structure of some of the show’s previous episodes. The first scenario involves Ryota and his team battling a crown-wearing coconut-type stray attacking the town. They quickly defeat it with Ryota’s newly found binding bullets, resulting in Ryota gaining a pouch that automatically picks up dropped items. Unfortunately, it isn’t without the sacrifice of Emily’s reliable giant hammer. This “shocking” twist would’ve had Emily struggle with her role without her weapon. However, she managed to gain a new one without any problems, thanks to a weapons crafter named Smith.
The other situation in the episode has Eve taking the spotlight as she searches for Ryota to have more carrots to eat. Not only that, but it also delves deep into Eve’s past as to why she’s distrustful toward party members. Additionally, the flashback shows how Eve’s obsession with carrots started, as she was once a meat eater and didn’t like vegetables. That is until she met a boy who appeared as a drop from a Death Buffalo. Eve may be a tad annoying regarding her hyperactive and spoiled personality, but it was nice that the episode showcased why Eve became who she is via a flashback. However, it also raised a puzzling question about how the boy ended up in the fantasy world and then returned to the real world while Ryota remained trapped in this realm.
Amid these scenarios, the episode features yet another routine of Ryota grinding to increase his stats, gain more money, and require additional items. In addition to the pouch and binding bullets, Ryota also retrieved a potion that increases the rate of plant-based drops. Ryota later gives the potion to Eve, who has a rank D item drop rate, so that she can get the carrots herself. However, it also resulted in Eve becoming the latest member of the Ryota Family, much to Ryota’s disbelief. The episode has some humorous moments, including Ryota’s idea of Princess Margaret selling underwear for money. However, Eve’s personality and the questionable world-building rules involving the young boy make this another middling continuation of the series. With only a few more episodes left, I’m still concerned about how it’ll wrap things up.
