English Dub Review: Masamune-kun’s Revenge R “Face Your Feelings”

Overview:

Masamune has had a series of absences from school, so Yoshino decides to check in on him after school. Chinatsu reveals he’s left and is staying with their grandfather in Shinsu.

Our Take:

Masamune just had his heart broken and that boy bailed so fast. He returned to hanging out with Grandpa and trying to figure out what he would do. But unfortunately, he didn’t tell anybody so that leaves his friends to pick up the pieces and try and figure out what is going on. Everyone of course goes to Aki first and they are shocked to find out they break up. Which leads them to go to his house and try and cheer him up.

I can’t say that everyone acts with maturity in this series but when it comes to the rom-com genre I would have to say that the only other series that treats its subject with maturity would be Horimiya. Aki and just about everyone else could tell that Yoshino had feelings for Masamune and for any progress to be made, she needed to let him know how she felt. Though I have to say the last thing I expected was for her to kiss him right off the bat. It’s a bold plan and we’ll see how it works for her.
