Animated Music Videos: Björk And Code Orange Push The Envelope

One of my most anticipated new releases of 2023, Code Orange’s upcoming new LP entitled The Above set to release on September 9th which already has released some real bangers in the form of  “Grooming My Replacement / The Game”, “Take Shape”, and this one “Mirror” which sees the super-talented Reba Meyers taking center-stage in a slightly more stoic presentation made complete with a hybrid-animated music video directed by NOWHERE2RUN.

“Mirror” isn’t the first-time that Code Orange had fucked with illustrated visuals, but it might be the band’s most ostentatious example, on a record that already has me pulled in all sorts of directions. All the more reason to see the band live for which you can see dates for here.

It’s 2023 and everyone loves to play the victim card, but bjork’s been doing it longer than most which I suppose makes her the OG victim (especially when she self identifies as being autistic).

In any attempt, the Icelandic singer/songwriter has released an animated music video for the track “Victimhood” which comes off of her latest release entitled Fossora that you can watch below that features AI augmented animated sequences derived from paintings.
