English Dub Review: The Duke of Death and His Maid “Cuff, Zain, and the Confession”

Overview:

Zain decides it’s time to leave Gemini Circus, but wants to confess his feelings to Cuff before he goes.

Our Take:

I hope that the series continues like this because I love all the cute and happy episodes we’re getting. Albeit, with a bit of darkness as well this episode had such a happy ending that I’m a bit concerned. Maybe I’m just so conditioned by dark and edgy anime that I am expecting something awful to happen to Zain and Cuff but this episode was a pleasant surprise. Don’t get me wrong something bad could still happen but I love that we got an answer to Zain’s confession and he and Cuff are now officially a couple. But I’ll be honest I was fully expecting him to get captured or something.

The other thing that made this episode a lot of fun was seeing the Duke have a super badass moment. When some of the bad witches created a giant plant to ruin the circus I remember thinking “Why doesn’t the Duke just touch it?” and he did and it died. It was awesome and I feel like this series has just been getting better and better. I hope that stays as the trend because this is a lot of fun.
