English Dub Review: Rent-a-Girlfriend “D-Day and Girlfriend”
Overview:
Mini’s earnest appeal makes things awkward. Meanwhile, Umi makes a request in return for retweeting the campaign.
Our Take:
I don’t know if the term “NTR” means anything to any of you but with this series it might have been the first time I was rooting for the story to go down that path. Get Kazuya out of here and bring in Umi but unfortunately it doesn’t look like that will be the case. Umi asked Chizuru if she likes Kazuya and she said she didn’t but then she also said “I don’t not like him” which is the most dumbass response. I’ve never written for a series that has chapters weekly so I imagine you go through a lot of different things to extend it but all of this back and forth reeks of needless padding.
Mini told Kazuya about her conversation with Chizuru and now he’s worried that she will think that he’s just wanting to make this movie to try and get in Chizuru’s pants. Which I think if we’re being honest is a little bit true but if there is one thing I wouldn’t question Kazuya on it would be the sincerity of his feelings for Chizuru. I just think parts of this story would work a little better if everyone was younger. I understand that would change some things but Kazuya just acts to much like a horny high school boy for me to believe he’s actually in college.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
