English Dub Review: Reign of the Seven Spellblades “Glare”

Overview:

Nanao and Oliver face down a powerful foe who has designs on Katie.

Our Take:

I know I’ve mentioned that I read the light novel before but there were some things that happened in this episode that I didn’t remember. For one thing, Oliver seems more like a harem protagonist than I remember him being. Sure, Chela isn’t actually into Oliver I’m pretty sure but the fact that she kissed him on the cheek sure rustled Katie’s jimmies is it just me or was Oliver about to kiss Nanao on the lips?!

Someone who seemed like a friend turned out to be a snake in the grass. They are wanting to experiment on Katie and Oliver and Nanao are disinclined to let them. The animation was a lot better in this episode and it was a lot of fun. One technical thing I noticed was that it sounded like Dani Chambers was doing the voice of Katie. It had been Jill Harris up until now but I think she just needed some rest and will hopefully be back next week.

This has just been a fun anime I’ve looked forward to every week and I believe we are getting to the end of the first volume of the light novel so we are going into unknown territory for me. You can believe that makes my anticipation for future episodes grow.
