English Dub Review: Reign of the Seven Spellblades “Colosseum”

Overview:

After Katie is bullied by the other students, her friends end up in a classroom brawl. But that won’t be the only fight they see…

Our Take:

One thing that always bothers me is how people bully others, look I understand that bullying happens but it’s the things they bully someone about. “Hey, you actually care about other living things? What a loser!” like come on now you know you’re on the losing side of this one. Even looking at things from a historical perspective it baffles me how people thought certain things were okay but if you’re lucky you’ll have friends like Oliver and Nanao.

I’m still in on this show but this episode was not as good as the previous ones. The animation for the fights wasn’t that good and while I love Nanao as a character her dialogue in this episode felt a little bit off. I know she talks like an old knight or samurai with her “Have at thee!” talk but there were a couple of things that just threw me off. She was talking to a creature about it wanting a worthy opponent and I don’t think it cared. Luckily, I feel like this episode was just a bit of a hiccup and we’ll be back on track next time.
