English Dub Review: Masamune-kun’s Revenge R “There Are Things You Shouldn’t Realize”

Overview:

Masamune helps Yoshino after she sprains her ankle and Aki meets with Gasou.

Our Take:

First things first, thank you, Crunchyroll for translating on-screen text! It was pretty important too so I was glad I could read it. What’s going on right now is a little bit hard to follow, but from what I understand, Masamune breaks out in hives when he gets physically close to Aki and wanted to see if the same thing would happen with Yoshino. It didn’t and he was starting to realize that a lot of the most fun he’d ever had was scheming with Yoshino. So, where does this leave us? Is he in love with Yoshino? Or perhaps he enjoys spending time with her. But if I recall, there will be some hurt feelings and tears soon.

Aki Adagaki has become such an exciting character for me. When the series starts we are supposed to dislike her and the way she acted made that easy. But as the series has progressed we have gotten to see why she is the way she is. At this point, she might be the person I feel the worst for. Masamune’s entire revenge plan was based on a lie and if the context clues are anything to go by he might be falling in love with the person who called him “Pig’s Foot” anyways. Let’s just hope this doesn’t end with too much heartbreak.
