WB Discovery @ SDCC 2023: New Movies, Anime, And Ruining Rick And Morty Discussed

We already told you about some of the new series coming to MAX streaming service later this year, but we’ve got a few more open items to discuss in terms of other news from San Diego Comic-Con 2023 that came from WB Discovery as it pertains to adult animation.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced animated adaptations of The Watchmen and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, both set for release sometime in 2024. That said, WBHE has a number of releases coming for the rest of this summer well into Fall 2023 still to come.

Also on the way, a number of anime is coming to Toonami which confirms the recent reports of a number of unannounced anime still to come to the action-toon block of Adult Swim. One of those unannounced projects came to light at AnimeExpo 2023, another broke just before Toonami in the form of Lazarus, and now we’ve got FLCL Grunge coming September 9th and FLCL Shoegaze on the way and then we still have both Ninja Kamui and Rick and Morty: The Anime coming on the back of it. Uzumaki also looks like it’s getting closer although this is definitely a 2024 at best premiere.

Speaking of Rick and Morty, prolapsed rectum Steve Levy aka the executive producer of Rick and Morty continues to tout “sound-a-like” voices for the upcoming seventh season of Rick and Morty, and that season seven is coming soon with seasons eight and nine being written, though, most fans on social media are already lamenting the fact that Justin Roiland won’t be reprising his role as the titular characters despite the fact that he was terminated after he was wrongly accused of domestic abuse charges.
