English Dub Review: Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon “The King Frog Fiend Appears”
Overview
The Hunters Association hires Lammis and Boxxo to provide food during a frog fiend hunt, with a ragtag group acting as their bodyguards. But things turn ominous when the fiends prove to be more numerous than expected.
Our Take
After finally calling her new Vending Machine friend by the name of “Boxxo“, Director Bear, an actual talking bear who is the director of the Hunter’s Association, asks Lammis to bring Boxxo as food support for a large hunt to exterminate frog fiends. Kerioyl, leader of the party Menagerie of Fools, takes an interest in Boxxo, who decides he cannot be trusted. Meanwhile, Lammis becomes friends with a huntress named Shui. Boxxo decides to join the fight to protect Lammis with his barrier.
Lammis discovers with Boxxo on her back as a counterweight, her usually poor control of her strength is negated. After the battle, Boxxo provides free sports drinks to the injured. Director Bear believes a king-frog fiend is nearby and takes the remaining hunters to find it. That night, a devious hunter tries to break open Boxxo to steal his items, so Boxxo burns him with scalding soup and he is punished by Lammis. The king-frog fiend appears to attack the injured, but Boxxo provides an unexpected idea to put a stop to the creature…
There was a lot more action-oriented episode this time around after the “previous episode” which excelled mostly in dialogue-heavy moments. I have a slight feeling that a similar situation is going to end up repeating itself and that is going to be the moment in which our protagonist manages to buff the things he sells so that have effects on whoever uses them, or directly starts selling potions. But we did get a chance to see the benefits that Boxxo can have in combat, introduced some new characters and as expected it was all well written as ridiculous as it all sounds. I look forward to seeing what Boxxo can also do in the future!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
