English Dub Review: Masamune-kun’s Revenge R “Episode 1”
Overview:
After six years, Masamune returns to exact his revenge on Aki Adagaki. Will the school trip to Paris help or hurt his plans?
Our Take:
I started to get back into anime around 2017/2018, so I didn’t get to watch this as it aired. But being as big on romance as I am wasn’t long until I discovered it and this was one of my first introductions to how cruel anime can be. You find a show you really like and it only has one season with no continuation in sight so you go and read the manga and wonder what could have been. Well, wonder no more! Because we finally got a continuation of one of my favorite rom-coms.
I’m happy to say that it picks up right where the first season left off and all the voice cast has returned. It’s been a while since I read the manga so getting a refresher this way is going to be fun. The animation is great and the characters are as enjoyable as I remember. For those of you that were more patient than I was and were able to wait for the anime to continue, I promise you are in for a treat. Masamune-kun’s Revenge is one of my top romantic comedy manga of all time and I think this season will be able to finish it out.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
