ENGLISH DUB REVIEW: I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too “To the Royal Capital”
Overview
The Director still has designs on Yūya, but he’s too busy studying for his upcoming exams to worry about it. Kaori comes over to help him with math, and then…! Later, Yūya takes advantage of a short school holiday to head for the royal capital.
Our Take
Yūya and Kaori are spending more time together as they prepare for exams. While at Yūya’s home, Kaori accidentally discovers the gate to the other world. Yūya decides to let her in on his secret, and she promises to keep it. In the capital of Arselia, Lexia introduces Luna to her father. However, as the circumstances of Luna’s conversion are explained, King Arnold becomes even more enraged at the implication that Yūya may have engaged in something inappropriate with his daughter, despite the audience knowing that he didn’t.
Upon hearing this news, Reigar decides to jumpstart his plans to assassinate his father and Lexia and claim the throne. Following the competition, Yūya heads to the royal palace and meets the king. However, a series of awkward situations end up unintentionally pissing the King off even more. But out of nowhere, Reigar’s agents attack with a magic-suppressing barrier. With his enhanced abilities, Yūya easily defeats the assailants. But when Lexia scolds her father for his temper, proof of Reigar’s involvement is discovered…
Overall this was an intense episode that feels like it revealed a bit too much for someone like Kaori to comprehend. I know we’re left to assume that lots of time has passed for the two to get to know each other, but I feel like Yūya should’ve taken legit steps to hide such a crucial secret, like the hidden door in his bathroom in advance. And on Kaori’s end, she could’ve also made an effort to earn his trust before revealing something so monumental, but let’s hope she keeps his secret… As for the assassination attempt, It got a bit wacky in terms of how overly honest Lexia and Luna are when it came to revealing all that shit to the King yet it strangely worked itself out. And the attack that Lexia’s brother, Reigar, orchestrated, is not something I expected to happen in this very episode. It seems that Yūya is consistently in the right place at the right time, and based on observation, he’s most likely going to be more involved with helping the King in the next episode…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
