English Dub Review: Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion “Why Raeliana Called Him Grandpa”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Heika tries everything he can think of to make Raeliana agree to be his disciple. He opens the seldom-opened gate to the Holy Land, summons its knights to show off his authority, and even tells Raeliana he’ll be her grandpa.

Our Take:
When we last left off, Raeliana’s first encounter with the young Holiness, Heika Demint, was far from welcoming. The reason is simple: she treats Heika like a child instead of an almighty heir. Even worse is that Raeliana turned down Heika’s offer to be his disciple after being impressed by her translations. So now we see Heika pulling off every plan in his book to win over Raeliana, even though he’s still miffed at how she treats him. Children can be complicated sometimes, especially the royal ones.
Of course, that includes summoning the knights from the Holy Land. If he can’t convince Raeliana through his words, he might as well use his Holy powers to make her see the error of her ways. However, that’s not the only thing he does to impress Raeliana, as he also requires her to call him “grandpa”. At first, it sounded like it was providing humor through its awkward, questionable, and somewhat gross references, especially since there’s a vast age gap between Heika and Raeliana. However, it became clearer once his true form was revealed.
We also finally see the diamond’s purpose hanging around Raeliana’s head. It’s revealed that the decorative crystal is actually Crystalite, a dangerous element that explodes upon absorbing light from the sun. So it’s clear that Vivian was attempting to kill Raeliana during the ceremony, leaving Raeliana to question her attempt to escape the character’s fate. Thankfully, Heika used his Holy powers to save Raeliana, transforming him into a man. This sudden change makes the whole “grandpa” thing more sense than it should. Of course, this doesn’t ease Noah’s concern over Raeliana’s safety as he seeks to know who’s trying to kill her, further depicting Noah’s growing development. However, Raeliana still doesn’t believe him considering her spending the past several days with him.
Despite this life-threatening setback, Raeliana completed the ceremony as planned and accepted Heika as her “grandpa”. Unfortunately, there’s still more trouble ahead for her as we get closer to the end of the season. After spending the last few episodes wondering when Beatrice Trancet would appear in person, we finally have our answer at the shocking conclusion, where she pays a visit at the Shamall residence. So it looks like Raeliana will be in for a rude awakening when she finds out about the main character’s sudden appearance.
