English Dub Review: The Legendary Hero is Dead! “A New Legendary Hero”

Overview:

As Touka and his friends pursue the entity enslaving the townspeople, an encounter with another adventurers’ party raises new questions.

Our Take:

Now this episode was good, and the story is taking some interesting turns but I have to say that this episode introduced one of my least favorite tropes. That would be when you have two perverted characters meet and one of them thinks the other is some kind of sick degenerate either because they are trying to deflect from themselves or that person’s perversion is worse than theirs. For example in this Touka loves thighs but Yuna’s father, Fieri loves boobs so of course they both think the other is the worst pervert on the planet.

Other than that I am enjoying the characters that are getting introduced and how the plot is being a little more serious. I’m looking forward to seeing how this arc works itself out and I am also hopeful that Yuna has a newfound respect for Touka after this. Sure he’s a perv but ultimately he’s a good guy and I think he really does have feelings for her. I’ve enjoyed this far more than I thought I would, the animation isn’t anything great but it gets across what it needs to when it needs to.
