English Dub Review: The Ancient Magus’ Bride “The small leak will sink a great ship. I”

Overview:

Elias continues to investigate what is sapping magic from Lucy and Simeon. Chise gets a lecture from Hazel on her lack of self-preservation, and the students volunteer to some gathering at the waste tower as Halloween arrives.

Our Take:

One of the cutest scenes I have ever seen happened in this episode. Zoey the gorgon of course has snakes for hair. Lucy is used to having spiders for pets so snakes are a bit of a comfort for her. So she asks Zoey if she can pet his snakes. Now sexual innuendo aside, it was adorable to see these two characters with their own fair share of trauma just sharing a cute moment.

Chise has to think a little more before she acts, at least according to Hazel. She jumps into danger, assuming things will work out which is something we the audience have come to expect from our heroes. But when you think about it, it isn’t the smartest thing to do and probably really hurts those who care about them. There’s only one episode left and I am intrigued to see how it’s going to end up because there’s just too much to wrap up.
