English Dub Review: The Ancient Magus’ Bride “Conscience does make cowards of us all.”

Overview:

As Chise watches over Lucy in the infirmary, she’s surprised by the familiar face who comes to visit. Meanwhile, the faculty discusses the mysterious disappearance of a dangerous tome.

Our Take:

The familiar face that came to see Lucy was her brother Seth Noel, who Chise apparently knows. This is probably where having seen the previous seasons might have been helpful. He seems like a dick and Lucy doesn’t like him and you know I’m on Team Lucy. Sure, she’s been kind of mean but her whole family was murdered so… I wouldn’t be a happy camper either.

The most interesting thing though is how this episode ended. I couldn’t tell if the people who killed Seth’s bodyguard were werewolves but they sure seemed like it. Given everything else that’s in this world it wouldn’t exactly surprise me if there are but it was still interesting. I don’t know what sort of craziness is going on but it finally seems like some sort of main plot is coming to fruition. Whether it is executed well or not is yet to be seen. Given how well the rest of this season has been so far I imagine it’s going to be really interesting.
