English Dub Review: Oshi no Ko “Actors”
Overview:
Kana’s resolve remains strong despite her washed-up reputation. Aqua sets the stage for her with a bold move that flips the script, which leads to opportunities for them both.
Our Take:
To the best of my knowledge, Jack Stansbury is fairly new to the anime scene. He does apparently voice Mendo on Urusei Yatsura and my feelings on that show have nothing to do with him. The voice actors do their job, that is more of a story issue. I’m here to talk about his role as Aqua on Oshi no Ko which might be his breakout role. Jack’s acting in this episode was great and really brought out how talented Aqua really is when he puts in the effort. Aqua took it upon himself to try and get the best out of one of his shitty co-stars, by taunting him he managed to get real emotions out of him. It also endeared him to Kana because he managed to make what was a bad adaptation passable at the very least.
We got two interesting developments to look forward to in the coming episodes. Miyako is attempting to put an idol group together for Ruby and Aqua suggested that Kana become one of their members. Not only that but Aqua’s search for his father continues but to get more info he will need to compete in a reality dating show. Interesting times ahead for the best anime of the season.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
