English Dub Review: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? “Daydream | A Sweet Lie”

Overview:

Ryu’s feelings for Bell have changed in a way she cannot quite place. All she knows is that she cannot lose him; she just cannot.

Our Take: 

Whenever an anime has a character like Ryu and they start to have “feelings they cannot place” I always find it baffling. Do you mean to tell me you don’t know what a crush or romantic feelings are? Ryu is a smart adult elf, and most fantasy stories have elves living way longer than humans which I assume is the case here as well but I could be wrong. But my point stands, she’s never seen someone be romantically involved with someone? I understand she’s been more “revenge” driven for a while but she would still know what the feelings she has are.

I have to say that I don’t know if my heart can continue to handle this arc. I thought they would be closer to safety by the end of this one but it seems like they’re worse off than ever. There’s only one episode left and I don’t imagine that they will leave it up in the air. But I also don’t see how they can wrap it all up in one more episode but I am definitely excited to find out.
