English Dub Review: Dr. Stone: New World: “Beautiful Science”

Overview: Senku (Aaron Dismuke), Amaryllis (Leah Clark) and the gang work on getting Kohaku (Felecia Angelle) and Ginro (Justin Briner) all dolled up in time for their audition as the master’s new wife. 

Our Take: As yellow-belly as he is, Ginro’s reliability when he is most needed is the core of his character. The episode sets up that trait and executes on it well in Ginro and the others acting as the heart of his courage. Taking the back lab is a fun group effort not only from Suika and Ginro, but Senku as well. Using the inhabitants’ ignorance of science against them is a classic Senku move. Also, it’s enjoyable learning how simple ingredients can be turned into poo-smelling aroma to sell their vehicle as an animal.

Beautifying Kohaku is every bit the amusing craziness in her joker-like appearance. Auditioning the boys in some crossdressing action is hilarious in the ways they most certainly do not pass as feminine. Of course, Ginro just had to be the perfect candidate build wise, making the lineup complete.

Ginro and Kohaku’s auditions are ridiculous beauty displays in the most painfully awkward way possible. Beyond being hysterical, Moz is distinguished as a discerning threat in understanding Kohaku’s true nature. With her not backing down, it sets up an epic showdown between them as Amaryllis, Kohaku and Ginro infiltrate the palace.
