English Dub Review: Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion “Why Raeliana Cosplayed”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Raeliana wakes up in Noah’s room, with Noah lying half-naked beside her. Panicked, she seeks Adam’s help in fleeing the mansion. Noah sends out all his knights to find her, but Raeliana uses a maid disguise to avoid discovery.

Our Take:
Well, this is an awkward way to start this week’s episode. When we last left Raeliana, the titular character has been rescued by her “fiance”, Noah, with her captors, Brooks and Jake, being sent to St. Belles prison. But, as we’re all aware, her problems kept getting worse from here. The conclusion of last week’s episode saw Raeliana waking up beside a half-naked Noah, and based on Noah’s personality in the previous few episodes, she didn’t take that surprise well. Although, it isn’t without a few chuckles at how Raeliana reacted to this revelation.
How does she respond to this predicament? Why, by fleeing, of course, because she thinks Noah did something to her while she was passed out. With Adam’s help, Raeliana escaped from the mansion, resulting in Noah sending the knights to find them. Afterward, we get a humorous scenario involving Raeliana disguising herself as a maid to hide from Noah’s “pervert-like” actions. Amid this little scenario, we’re introduced to another character, Count Keith Westernberg, Noah’s right-hand man, while Raeliana searches through Noah’s study room.
This episode led me to assume that Raeliana’s maid disguise would be the central focus of its plot, but that’s not the case. It does involve Raeliana fooling around in her disguise, but it isn’t for the sake of aimlessness. Instead, it played a vital role in developing the characters’ “contractual” relationship. For instance, we see the possibility of Noah having actual feelings for Raeliana when he apologizes for the misunderstanding. However, it’s also revealed that Noah isn’t able to fall in love with someone because dukes aren’t allowed to. Since Noah wants Raeliana to stay with him as long as she wants, this seems like a good time for Noah to focus on his feelings instead of being a jerk.
“Why Raeliana Cosplayed” offers an amusingly entertaining scenario involving Raeliana cosplaying as a maid. More importantly, it uses this standard plot to further develop the fake relationship between her and Noah, with the latter being more than just a sly duke. But, of course, something else will probably falter this relationship yet again, and it’s in the form of a girl with yellow hair. Could it possibly be Noah’s original lover, Beatrice?
