English Dub Review: The Legendary Hero is Dead! “The Legendary Hero Is a Girl”

Overview:

A strange spell turning the townspeople into monsters forces some hard decisions from the hero’s party.

Our Take:

Most of this review is going to be me talking about how great Alexis Tipton is. She was already one of my favorite VAs but this episode was something else. In order to keep Yuna from becoming a zombie for good a spell needed to be done and Touka winds up possessing her body. Now we all know where this is going. Who wouldn’t be interested in what it feels like to be the opposite sex for a little bit?

What made this an absolute blast was the fact that Yuna is still voiced by Alexis Tipton (out loud at least, Ricco still does the mental commentary). So Alexis has to do her best Ricco as Touka impersonation and I believe she nailed it. The reactions and how she was talking to the rest of the party were fantastic.  That’s what I love about anime like this. It may not be an award winner but it’s fun and it gives everyone involved a chance to let loose and maybe try things they wouldn’t normally.
