English Dub Review: The Ancient Magus’ Bride “First impressions are the most lasting.”

Overview:

Chise learns a bit more about the college’s history and her classmates. Zoe’s secret is revealed, and a pact is formed.

Our Take:

This anime has just been a slow rise the whole time. What I mean by that is that it keeps introducing little elements that get me more and more excited to watch it. If this keeps up, it might become one of my favorites because it is not only comfy and whimsical but it’s also adding more characters that seem to have some depth.

Speaking of characters, we learned that Zoe is a half-Gorgon, like Medusa. This is super cool though if you have an issue with snakes you might want to avoid this episode. But unlike normal snakes, these ones are kind of cute. I can’t believe I’m saying that about snakes but Zoe shouldn’t feel bad about who they are and I think they have found a good group to fit in with.

As for Chise’s roommate, Lucy, she has been nothing but rude to Chise but considering she might have possibly seen her family get massacred then I can understand. As I said, most of the characters have been interesting but the way they expounded on Zoe and Lucy in this episode has me excited to see where their arcs go.
