English Dub Review: My Home Hero “The World of Violence”

Overview:

Tetsuo and Kyoichi work together to trace Nobuto’s footsteps before his disappearance. But in that process, they’re given a violent and possibly fatal ultimatum by the organization.

Our Take:

I fully expect that by the end of this Tetsuo might be just as bad as some of the guys he’s interacting with. That is just usually how these types of stories go, I know that I have compared this to Breaking Bad already but it is very similar. The guy will do anything he can to protect his family but in this case, it means killing his daughter’s shitty boyfriend. I felt bad for Tetsuo because he had to hear Nobuto’s actual girlfriend say some awful things about Reika.

One way that this isn’t like Breaking Bad (and I hope it doesn’t change) is in how Tetsuo and his wife Kasen interact. One of my favorite things has been their relationship, she supports and cares for him no matter what, even in the face of some truly awful things. I don’t really agree with his idea to keep her in the dark moving forward though. She has been his rock and I think if he is going to continue to succeed he is going to need her help.
