Web3: David Ayer Boards “Lollipop” ; Meta Leaning Into More Unscripted Meta Content
In a recent earnings call, Mark Zuckerberg let investors know that Metaverse isn’t going anywhere, and that resources being diverted to AI will ultimately benefit Meta’s World Horizons. While exiting the Facebook Watch originals game, Facebook will soon be doing YouTube like virtual events like VR comedy shows with Pete Davidson and Nikki Glaser, holiday specials featuring the likes of Eli Roth doing something big for Halloween, and The Notorious B.I.G. Sky’s The Limit: A VR Concert Experience in celebration of Biggie’s 50th birthday, The Shaq’tacular Spectacular, a New Year’s Eve Countdown Special hosted by Shaq.
Competitors like IMVU (Pussy Riot), Spatial iO (Snoop Dogg), and others have increasingly shown muscle, but Meta has by far the most resources, so they should be able to more than match the might of other metaverses.

David Ayer has boarded a new series called Lollipop which allows NFT owners to take part in a ten-episode race that has a storyline as a part of it, produced with Unreal Engine 5 using photorealistic imagery.
According to Deadline, Ayer will write and produce the series with Future, Chris Long, and Cedar Park Studios. Ten episodes featuring ten races inspired by worldwide settings all digitally created that will not only be a part of the episodic series, but be leveraged for e-sports-like competitions later on.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
